Our Yoga & Wellness Retreats are the new and improved version of our Yoga Getaways!
We invite you to leave it all behind. Step off the ferry and into another world – a world of old growth forests, crystal clear lakes, rocky mountain peaks and green valleys full of quaint farms dotted with sheep. In the heart of the island, nestled into one such valley you’ll find the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga. A working Yoga Centre with a full farm situated on 69 pristine acres of magical land, the ‘Centre’ has been serving its mission of peace to all who come since its inception in 1981.
Our Yoga & Wellness Retreats are open to people of all genders and all races, and all levels of yoga practitioners. We love to welcome beginners! And would be honoured for the opportunity to show you the practice we love.
You can expect Asana (physical yoga practice) classes for all levels, led by our highly-trained, fun-loving teachers in a variety of styles; daily Morning Practices, including an introduction to the powerful work of Pranayama (breathwork) and Meditation, followed by the delight of tea & fresh fruit; delicious, hearty farm-to-table vegetarian meals, served fresh all weekend by our dedicated Kitchen Team. Experience the detoxifying effects of our hand-built cedar sauna (dependent on weather). Lose yourself in the magic of our forest trails, walking next to our clear-running stream, and stop for a rest at Hanuman Grove. Or, simply choose a book from our extensive collection, and relax with a cup of tea in our beautiful library. Breathe, you’ve arrived home.
Saturday afternoon we have been sure to build in a significant amount of free time! Take a tour and walk the land with one of our knowledgable staff, or use this time to explore the rest of this special island! Artisans and musicians abound, and you are sure to find a treasure all your own at Salt Spring’s famous Saturday Market.
If you’ve enjoyed a Yoga Getaway in the past, get ready to fall in love all over again.
And if this is your first time, we look forward to welcoming you with our whole hearts.
This retreat includes:
- 2 nights’ accommodation and 3 days (Your choice, selected at registration – from private rooms to shared accommodations to camping in our beautiful on-land forest)
- Delicious vegetarian meals prepared for you each day
- 24 hour access to our Tea Bar – well-stocked with a variety of high quality teas and instant coffees, with fresh dairy and non-dairy beverages available.
- Daily Asana Classes – each session will have two different classes offered – usually a faster paced class and a slower flow. All levels of practitioners are always welcome to both.
- Morning Practices: We start each day with a half hour of breath-work & meditation followed by an introduction to the Classical Ashtanga (8-limbed) style of practice. An incredible way to start your day!
- Guided relaxation session
- Optional Cedar Sauna session (weather dependent)
- Introduction to the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga & its history
- Wilderness trails
- Access to our Jai Store! Purchase books and special souvenirs before returning home.
*Please note that our retreats are geared towards adults. We are currently unable to accommodate youth under the age of 18 in our programs, with the exception of our Annual Community Yoga Retreat.
