Stay at the heart of Salt Spring Island!

Enjoy a quiet night’s sleep and spend your days enjoying the peaceful grounds of the Centre – surrounded by the natural beauty of Salt Spring Island.

We are just a 5-minute drive to downtown Ganges, but you will feel worlds away when stepping on to our beautiful property.

Your retreat includes a self-serve breakfast with fruit, toast, granola, etc. and two fresh lacto-vegetarian meals per day, complimentary yoga classes, a wood-fired sauna, and your choice of accommodation.

What is included in your Personal Retreat?

  • Accommodation in a private room or campsite, and 24/7 access to the tea bar.
  • Two freshly prepared lacto-vegetarian meals per day (gluten-free and dairy-free / vegan options available), plus a light self-serve breakfast including toast, granola, yogurt, and fruit.
  • Complimentary access to our wood-fired sauna (advanced booking required – seasonal restrictions may apply).
  • Access to various public classes, ceremonies, and events during your stay. Please see our Events Calendar for more details.*Separate registration may be required for certain events.

Camping is available from May to September. We offer tenting campsites in a quiet forest setting or in sunny open meadows, either on a raised platform or directly on the ground. All have access to hot outdoor showers and outhouses (no electrical hook‐ups).

Please visit our Wellness Treatments page for more information about massage and other specialized treatments available at the Centre. All wellness treatments must be booked separately at additional cost, and are subject to therapist availability. Please use the online booking form provided on our website.

Meals

All meals are served in the dining room and we also have picnic tables outside, weather permitting. We ask that you refrain from eating in your guest room. Any changes to the meal schedule will be provided in your registration confirmation, but in general; self-serve breakfast from 7:30 – 9:00 AM; Lunch at 12:30 PM; Dinner at 6:00 PM. 

Please make note on your registration form if you have any dietary considerations we should be alerted to.

Dinner will be available on your arrival day (between 6:00 – 6:30 PM). Self-serve breakfast and lunch will be provided on the day you check out. If you choose to join us for meals please arrive on time as service is only available at the scheduled times.

What do I need to know before I arrive?

  • Tea Bar – The tea bar is located in the dining room and available 24/7. The tea station offers a variety of loose and packaged teas. 
  • Tap Water – All water is filtered. The tap for filling water bottles is in the dining room.
  • Phone Service – Cell phone service is limited in the valley, though you may be able to get a signal at the end of the driveway. If your phone and service provider allow, you may be able to enable Wi-Fi calling. A phone in the dining room is available for short calls such as calling a taxi or emergency calls such as 911.
  • Nature Trail – The trail starts in the campground just beyond the school.
  • Recycling – Please deposit all recyclable items in the bin located in the dining room.

Centre and Guest Guidelines

The Salt Spring Centre of Yoga is an inspired space for people to slow down, connect and focus on whatever learning opportunity is at hand. The land has been cultivated by yogis and volunteers for decades, the investment of love and intention is palpable when approaching the property.

Please respect the following rules:

  • Alcohol, cigarette/cannabis smoking, and illegal or non-prescription drugs are not permitted on the Centre property
  • Other than in the kitchens and for certain ceremonies, no incense, fires, candles, sparklers or camp stoves are allowed on the property or in buildings.
  • Meat, fish, and eggs are not permitted on the Centre property.
  • Guests are requested to refrain from wearing scented or perfumed products to ensure a scent-free environment.
  • Outside shoes are not permitted indoors.
  • We ask that public nudity is avoided, including in the sauna.
  • Please refrain from swearing.
  • Quiet hours are observed from 9 pm – 8 am

What activities can I participate in during my retreat?

There are lots of optional activities you may wish to take part in during your time at the Centre.

  • Enjoy a peaceful walk through our lush forest trails.
  • Check our calendar to see if there are any yoga classes* you would like to join during your stay.
  • Spend a quiet moment at our outdoor temples.
  • If interested in a wellness treatment*, be sure to book with our Wellness Team as soon as possible!
  • Join Wednesday evening Kirtan or Sunday afternoon Satsang.
  • Inquire about booking a sauna session*, weather permitting.
  • Or simply enjoy a restful night’s sleep!

*Wellness treatments must be booked separately at an additional cost. Subject to availability.

Booking Deadline

We appreciate booking requests at least 48 hrs. prior to your stay so we can prepare effectively to host you. We will not be able to accommodate any same day bookings.
