A Self-Guided Yoga & Rest Retreat in British Columbia

A Personal Retreat at the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga is a self-guided yoga and rest retreat in British Columbia, designed for those seeking deep rest, clarity, and reconnection.

This personal retreat is:

  • Self-directed and unscheduled
  • Quiet and intentionally simple
  • Rooted in yogic living and community rhythm

There are no mandatory activities. You choose how much structure—or spaciousness—you want.

Who This Retreat is For

This retreat is well suited for :

  • Professionals experiencing burnout or life transitions
  • Creatives, writers, and teachers seeking uninterrupted focus
  • Yoga practitioners wanting time for personal practice
  • Individuals seeking a solo retreat in British Columbia
  • Mothers, daughters, sisters, or close friends retreating together
  • Islanders looking for a quiet local reset
  • Travelers seeking a meaningful alternative to a traditional vacation

What do I need to know before I arrive?

  • This is a self-check-in. You will be sent detailed instructions on how to get to the Centre and into your room. Please read these mindfully.
  • Water – All tap water is filtered. The tap for filling water bottles is in the dining room.
  • Phone Service – Cell phone service is limited in the valley, though you may be able to get a signal at the end of the driveway. We suggest you enable Wi-Fi calling on your cell phone. There is a phone in the dining room for short calls such as calling a taxi or emergency 911 calls.
  • Nature Trails – Please bring seasonally appropriate footwear to enjoy the trail on the land and other neighbouring trails. Our trail begins in the campground just beyond the school.
  • Recycling – Please deposit all recyclable items in the bin located in the dining room.

“I would return to the Centre even just to spend concentrated time on that land. There is an energy and essence everywhere on that property that allowed me to just connect with myself again. The forest trail…The serenity. The Centre gave me the container to reset and get back in tune with my Self and my true nature.” – Sarah
